Raleigh Named 7th Best Place for Jobs by Forbes

Raleigh has been one of the best big cities in the country for jobs since the recession began.

If you needed any other reasons to convince you that Raleigh is a great place to live, take a look at one of the latest Forbes articles declaring Raleigh as on of the best cities for jobs.

The Forbes article ranks the Raleigh-Cary area as the seventh best “Big City: for jobs in the country. That’s up seven places from last year’s 14th place finish.

2011 was the first time since the recession started that showed more growth in the private sector compared to the public sector. The energy, technology and manufacturing fields have seen the best growth over the past year.

The rankings were based on recent growth trends, mid-term growth, long-term growth and the region’s momentum between November 2000 and January 2012.

The cities that beat out Raleigh are: Austin, Houston, Salt Lake City, Fort Worth, San Jose and Dallas.
